Free Energy Machine!June 30th, 2008 Gennaro Brooks-ChurchI WANT ONE OF THESE!! Great New Technique for heating and moreJune 30th, 2008 Gennaro Brooks-ChurchThis guy has invented a motor that heats water. It is VERY efficient. Because it is so efficient there are more implications than simple hot water heaters for the house. Very interesting. Thinking greenJune 28th, 2008 Gennaro Brooks-ChurchMy mother lives in Spain in a valley without electricity. All the houses in the valley use solar panels. The other day she told me excitedly that the electric company was putting poles up the valley so everyone could get connected to the grid and get electricity. I was surprised by her excitement because she is very green and solar is greener than grid electric. But then solar can be a pain in the ass if you don’t spend gobs of money on panels. “So you are excited to get on the grid.” I said. “Hell no!” She said. “I’m excited because I plan on buying all my neighbors’ panels at dirt cheap rates! Grid electricity is the past! Solar is the future!” That’s the spirit. I agree with her. It may have looked like the electric company was bringing the valley into the present but I think the solar powered valley had leapfrogged the technology, going from candles to local solar and skipping the middle stage of grid electricity. Just because the world around you is moving in one direction does not mean the world as a whole is moving in that direction. One isn’t better than the other but it is important to keep the perspective in mind. Even though everyone around my mother is moving to the grid I think the world at large is moving towards solar electricity. My mother’s personal vision is in harmony with the world at large. There are three things to consider in defining perspective: 1. Your personal perspective I find that if you have the courage and strength it is good to find the harmonies between points 1 and 3 and then stay true to them. In my mother’s case it is also going to save her a lot of money. Point 2 is just passing and only worth paying attention to on a practical level. Being in harmony with point 2 at the expense of 1 and 3 can eventually leave you out of touch with yourself and the world. Being in harmony with 1 and 3 at the expense of 2 can make you a little unpopular in the short run but that about it. Of course harmony between all three is great and the ultimate goal, but sometimes not possible because you are not in control. All this is just about perspective and not really about controlling the process. I have seen about five hours worth of footage and comments on the 9/11 event and strongly believe the main stream story is blatantly wrong. I do not know what the true story is. I have a general theory about how it was done by terrorists closer to home, but I do not really know who runs things so I have no idea who they are. Their reasons? To control the population better. To make money off the war. To control more oil. To keep freedom thinking people from getting into power (nobody votes for freedom when scared). The 9/11 fraud was called out in Canada’s parliament (see video below). New Democratic Party Deputy House Leader Libby Davies delivers a Parliamentary Petition signed by over 500 Canadians demanding a new 9/11 investigation, in Canada’s House of Commons during Routine Proceedings at 1:10 pm on June 10, 2008. 500 people isn’t much…but I think it is better than no people. The petitions read: We, the undersigned citizens of Canada draw the attention of the House to the following: THAT, scientific and eyewitness evidence shows that the 9/11 Commission Report is a fraudulent document and that those behind the report are consciously or unconsciously guilty of covering up what happened on 9/11/2001. This evidence overwhelmingly supports the conclusion that World Trade Center Towers 1, 2 and 7 were brought down by demolition explosives and that the official theory of the towers collapsing from the airplanes and the ensuing fires is irrefutably false. We further believe that elements within the US government were complicit in the murder of thousands of people on 9/11/2001. This event brought Canada into the so-called “War on Terror,” it changed our domestic and foreign policies for the worse, and it will continue to have negative consequences for us all if we refuse to look at the facts. THEREFORE, your petitioners call upon Parliament to: (1) Immediately launch its own investigation into the events of 9/11/2001 on behalf of the 24 Canadian citizens murdered in New York City. (2) Act lawfully on the findings of its own investigation by helping to pursue the guilty parties in the international courts. It is the same piston technology as a gas engine where pressure moves the piston but instead of a little gas explosion it is simply air under pressure. Check out the engine made in Australia - it is the same size as a Frisbee!! Billion Dollar car companies aren’t inventing this stuff. It is mostly spearheaded by simple people with modest funding. Now don’t tell me there is something strange going on here?!?! Large Numbers In Visual FormatJune 21st, 2008 Gennaro Brooks-ChurchHere is an interesting clip by Chris Jordan. He shows statistics in his photos in an effort to help us connect to the huge numbers. 2.3 million US prison inmates is just too big of a number for us to grasp. But when you see 2.3 million prison uniforms it makes more sense to our visual mind. Did you know over a thousand US citizens die of cigarette related disease EACH DAY?? I have been in construction all my life but this is the first big job where I have all the responsibility (planning, crew, funding, timing, design, all of it). It is fun. There were plans submitted to make it into a three family but we (me and Loretta) have decided to make it a two family instead. The top three floors will be ours. The ground floor and basement will be a rental. Here are some photos of it in the gut stage. Below is the front. I have gutted all floors except the third floor where I am living. I also cut out a large window on the top floor that makes for great views and light. The concept of green is a complex one. Tearing down an old house to make a new green house is a waste if the old house worked just fine. But green is more than numbers. Green is also a spiritual thing. So tearing down a dark and gloomy house to make a happy bright house is good for the soul and that is a good thing. I tried to find a balance here. I ended up replacing almost everything but will reuse a lot of the material. I am also replacing the perfectly good but very energy inefficient fuel boiler with a new efficient one. There is waste by throwing out a good boiler but the new efficient one is better over time I have rationalized.
Below is the back of the house. In the back yard you can see all the wood beams I bought. They are salvaged from another house. I want to recycle as much as possible. The salvaged beams will be used for all my floors and ceilings. They are old growth and old, so they come from trees that are hundreds of years old and they were cut about a hundred years ago. They are old and worn but the wood was stronger to begin with so it evens out. And no new trees were cut to make my house new - it is recycled. I want to separate the toilet water from the rest of the house and pass the gray water (sinks and shower) into the back yard to water the plants. If you use biodegradable soaps the water is harmless and nutritious for the plants. It would pass under the ground via tubes with holes so you wouldn’t actually see the water except through the resulting lush greenery. I am told that laundry detergent has a lot of the same ingredients that a good fertilizer has. A friend does this and his tomatoes are legendary.
Below is the top floor which will, like most of the house be a large open space with light. There will also be stairs to the roof which is going to be raised to offer higher ceilings. The roof will be a green roof with about six inches of earth and various low succulent plants that need little maintenance, suck up the rain water and keep the roof temperature constant. I will plant some low maintenance wild flowers to help feed the bee hive I will have on the roof. I am very excited to have a bee hive. I am not a big eater of honey but I definitely like fruit and without bees pollinating our flowers we would have no fruit or vegetables. On the roof will be a bulkhead that is enclosed in glass to offer warmth and views for sitting. The air conditioning units will be placed on the north side of the bulkhead in the shade so that they stay cool and don’t have to work so hard. On the bulkhead roof I will place solar panels to power low voltage things like garden lights. I have to look into the solar thing more to see how much I can actually power. I am betting that NY will get hotter and energy prices will get pricier. So I am building a house that will still be practical in 20 years. I am removing the double front doors that work great for cold winters but are not needed otherwise. I am getting rid of the monster of a boiler and replacing it with a small efficient heater and air tight insulation. I am definitely finding eco friendly cooling solutions (fans, energy efficient air conditioners etc) to keep cool. And I want to take the electricity as much off the grid as possible. Solar panels are a must and maybe a wind propeller. We get good wind on the roof from the ocean. Below is the second floor which will be one open space for kitchen and living area. The back wall (seen in the photo) will be opened up and replaced with a glass wall. It will help warm the space in the winder since that is southern facing. In the summer we’ll curtain it. All glass will be high energy efficiency to keep constant temperatures. The third floor will be bedrooms and I’m not renovating it since it was renovated two months before I bought the house. It is where we live now - very small for us but it keeps things cozy. That covers the top three floors, which we will live in.
Below is a photo of the ground floor and basement, which will be the second apartment. We had to take out the whole floor because of termites. The ground floor will have part of the floor cut out to create a balcony that looks down onto the basement thus creating an airy space that is more usable on the basement level. The cut out of the floor is on the south side of the building so that the sunlight will stream into the ground floor and basement all day. The back wall will also be taken out and replaced by a large glass wall to increase the light streaming in. It is really going to be amazing. The stairs from the ground floor to the basement will be made out of the thick recycled wood to increase the organic feel. The floor cutout will also be rimmed with a walkway for access to the garden. The walkway will be slats of metal to maximize the light going to the basement. The slats also make cool shadows on the floor similar to the shadows that the raised Brooklyn subway creates on the street below (think Godfather or Do The Right Thing movies). The walkway will actually be the recycled fire escape that you can see on the back of the building. Since it is a two family code does not require a fire escape any more. Below you can see the ground floor and basement without a floor. These are the plans for now. This too shall change….. It is 22 2nd Street in Brooklyn. See it here. The important thing is to click “Street View” when on Google Maps. It is so cool how you can zoom up and down the street! Here is a screen capture of the house in Google Maps Images:
Lindsey Williams on how the US is becoming a 3rd world country and the IMF is getting richJune 18th, 2008 Gennaro Brooks-ChurchI just discovered Lindsey Williams thanks to my main source of information, Brasscheck.tv. He has some very interesting info on how the oil industry works. Basically he says that the World Bank and International Monetary Fund are price fixing the oil prices and making billions. It costs less to pull oil out of our own oil fields in Alaska than it does in the middle east. But they don’t allow that oil to flow. A lot more money can be made by buying it internationally. I don’t pretend to understand the big picture. Lindsey Williams explains the overview very well and his sinister tone does not leave you with a good feeling about the powers that be. Is he right? I have no idea but I certainly wonder why the hell there are pot holes in the Brooklyn streets, why the school three blocks away from my Brooklyn home needs police guards, why the schools in my area have to hold lotteries because they don’t have enough space for all the neighborhood children. And on the other hand why do I see on the news how much crazy money the oil companies are making. Why do I hear that billions of tax dollars are flowing into companies like Blackwater (I call them Backwater) and Halliburton to cause mass destruction in places like Iraq for no apparent good to either the US or Iraqi public? I know first hand that money is not flowing to the right places. With power comes responsibility and it appears that once again the people in power are not powerful enough to be responsible. They are powerful on the outside and so very weak on the inside. Why? Probably because they rose to power in a corrupt system and they are now just as locked into the system as everyone else. Either everyone else has to revolt, an event that would be pretty traumatic and in my opinion unlikely, or the powers that be have to look deep within themselves and harness the strength to break out of the grip they are in and actually do good. It would mean breaking everything they have have spent a life striving for. It would mean risking their lives and it would mean possibly being a martyr. But it is the best way. Out of the worst evil can come the best good. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Is the oil crisis being manufactured? He was crystal clear over a year ago that gasoline was headed straight to $4.00 a gallon and he says he knows why. Williams became an oil industry insider by virtue of his success at mediating labor disputes in the Alaska oil fields. Little did his colleagues know, he had no intention to become a “good old boy.” |
