How do you know if George Bush is lying? He is talking.
I found it interesting when George Bush spoke out against the “Russian invasion” of Georgia. I almost forgot that George Bush has no interest in humanity and almost thought that he was genuinely concerned for the wellbeing of the small country of Georgia.

My one mainstream news source, the NPR radio, kept quoting Bush and saying all sorts of sympathetic things about Georgia. Hand in hand, NPR Radio and George Bush portrayed an image of the big bad Russian aggressor attacking the helpless little Georgian country.

I thought, well, I guess Bush has a humanistic side after all…..NOT. He is a liar and manipulator of basic human goodness, in this case calling on our underdog instincts to support Georgia and see Russia as a big meanie.

It is so easy for humans to forget that every conflict involves grown people. Intelligent people. Even the most depraved group has thinking and feeling humans. And the flip side is true as well. Every group of people contains at least a handful of complete genocidal maniacs.

Just like we all contain a wide spectrum of emotions inside us that can make us saints or sinners, a group has a wide range of people that can turn the group into a constructive or destructive force.

We so easily fall into the trap of taking sides, elevating one side and debasing the other. All of a sudden Georgia is good and Russia is bad. I’ve lived in both countries. Neither is better or worse. They are both murderers. They are both good. They are both human.

Yet knowingly or not politicians like Bush use our bipolar black and white reactionism to maniupulate us. Russia Bad. Georgia good. Uh, ok. And before you know it we are condoning all sorts of stupid actions. What’s next? A nuclear stand off between us and Russia. Hmmm……sounds like a great money making opportunity for nuclear weapons makers…….

George bush does not open his mouth unless one of his connections stands to benefit from it financially. Georgia is a key military and economic strategic place controlled by the US and acts as a constant pesky thorn in Russia’s ass. The US is constantly pissing on Russia’s leg via their involvement in Georgia. Any country would want Georgia out of the way.

Don’t let the propaganda fool you into thinking poor old Georgia is helpless and innocent. It may be, but not because of Georgia….but because of the US. It is being used and abused by two superpowers. Georgia may be the good guys, but that does not make Russia the bad guys. I think we need to look closer to home before we start accusing Russia of bullying Georgia.
